The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has formally handed over 14 seized assets to Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State. The event, which took place at the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, was marked by a ceremony presided over by the Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede.
During the ceremony, Olukoyede disclosed that the recovered assets, comprising various properties, were previously forfeited to the Federal Government. The EFCC’s involvement in investigating this matter dates back to 2007, culminating in the conviction of individuals connected to the assets.
The decision to return these assets to the Enugu State Government stemmed from a directive by President Bola Tinubu, following a formal request made by the EFCC. Among the assets handed over are real estate holdings, radio and television transmission equipment, and a medical facility.
Further details on this significant development will be provided shortly. Stay tuned for updates.
