Manchester, England — Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has sustained an ankle injury, raising concerns over his availability for upcoming fixtures.
The Norwegian forward picked up the injury during City’s 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory against Bournemouth, where he missed a penalty but later found the net. The setback occurred in a collision with Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook.
Following the incident, City confirmed that Haaland underwent initial medical examinations in Manchester on Monday. The club added that he would consult a specialist to determine the full extent of the injury, with ongoing assessments underway.
Despite the uncertainty, City remain hopeful that Haaland will return before the season’s end, including in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Currently positioned fifth in the Premier League, Manchester City continue their push for a Champions League qualification spot.
