Bandits have kidnapped Reverend Father Gabriel Ukeh, the presiding priest of St. Thomas Parish, in Zaman Dabo Community, located in the Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Kazah, Vicar General (Pastoral), disclosed in a statement that the abduction occurred on Sunday morning when the priest was taken from the rectory.
“We urge fervent prayers for his immediate and safe release and condemn the repeated kidnappings for ransom targeting innocent and defenseless community members,” Kazah stated.
He emphasized the parish’s collaboration with security forces to secure the priest’s release, urging the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. “We will utilize every legitimate means to ensure the priest’s safe return,” he added.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
