Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has applauded the unwavering resilience of Nigerian women in their quest for a more just and equitable society.
The commendation was delivered by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the NGF and Governor of Kwara State, in a statement marking International Women’s Day. He emphasized the critical role women play in fostering a balanced and progressive society.
“The contributions of women to our collective development cannot be overstated,” Governor AbdulRazaq remarked. “Their resilience, determination, and commitment to nation-building are truly commendable.”
He reaffirmed the NGF’s dedication to championing policies that safeguard the rights and welfare of women and the girl child, pledging sustained partnerships with key stakeholders to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Highlighting the need for greater inclusion, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, urged for increased female participation in governance and decision-making.
In a personally issued statement, Senator Mustapha celebrated the intelligence, dedication, and leadership potential of Nigerian women. He underscored the importance of fostering policies that create opportunities for women to excel across all sectors.
The statement concluded with a renewed commitment from the NGF to support initiatives that promote women’s rights, equity, and sustainable development in Nigeria.
