Kano, Nigeria — Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has commenced an ambitious urban road rehabilitation project, targeting 17 major roads across Kano’s metropolitan areas.
The revitalization effort kicked off with the reconstruction of Club Road in Nassarawa Local Government, marking the beginning of a broader urban renewal initiative.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf emphasized that this project aligns with his administration’s vision to transform Kano into a world-class city.
“These projects are a fulfillment of our campaign promises,” Governor Yusuf stated. “We are committed to delivering modern infrastructure that will elevate Kano’s status among Nigeria’s leading cities.”
To ensure smooth execution, the governor confirmed that adequate funds have been allocated for all 17 projects, guaranteeing timely payments and adherence to high-quality standards.
He reassured residents that every project under his leadership would meet global best practices before completion.
The Managing Director of Metropolitan Construction Company vowed to deliver the project within the stipulated timeframe, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to efficiency.
Meanwhile, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Marwan Ahmad, outlined the scope of the Urban Renewal Programme, which includes major roads such as Club Road, Ashton Road, Airport Road, and Murtala Muhammad Road.
The statement concluded with a renewed pledge from the Kano State Government to sustain infrastructural development and enhance the city’s livability.
