Governor Otti accepts three rescued children and advises parents to be cautious

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has received three children, Gideon, Divine, and Israel, who were abducted in Ama Ime, Ikwuano Local Government Area of the state on May 10, 2024.

The children were rescued in Anambra and Delta states by security agencies coordinated by the Abia State government. They were reunited with their parents and well-wishers at the Governor’s residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

During the reception, Governor Otti expressed his gratitude to God and all those involved in the successful rescue operation. He cautioned parents to be vigilant and not be careless about their children’s whereabouts in order to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. Otti also emphasized the importance of holding accountable all individuals involved in the abduction through prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Governor pledged government support for the rescued children and commended the security operatives for their efforts in ensuring the safe return of the abducted children. He reiterated his commitment to maintaining tight security in Abia State to safeguard residents and boost economic activities.

Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Osinachi Nwaka, narrated the details of the rescue operation, which unfolded in three stages. He personally led the first rescue operation in Ekwulobia, Anambra State, demonstrating the dedication and determination of security personnel in carrying out their duties.
