Governor Fubara Declares Victory Over Rivers State’s Enemies

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has asserted to the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide that his administration has triumphed over adversaries of the state amidst the ongoing crisis.

Speaking during a solidarity walk to mark the 56th anniversary of the late Maj. Isaac Adaka Boro, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude for the IYC’s support and urged the Ijaw community to join in celebrating the state’s liberation.

Governor Fubara highlighted Maj. Isaac Adaka Boro’s legacy of advocating for equity, justice, and fair play, emphasizing the common goal of liberation shared by every genuine Rivers man.

The governor assured the gathered crowd of his commitment to maintaining peace and reiterated that the enemies of the state had been decisively overcome.

Governor Fubara appealed to Ijaw youths to conduct themselves peacefully during the Boro Day celebrations and to uphold the values of the Ijaw Nation.

Additionally, Governor Fubara pledged support to the IYC Eastern Zone by providing a suitable Secretariat in Rivers State, as stated in a press release by his chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

In his remarks, the national president of IYC, Jonathan Lokpobiri, hailed the significance of the day as Ijaw people gathered with their governor to commemorate Major Isaac Adaka Boro Day.

He urged detractors to respect the governor’s mandate and commended Governor Fubara for his leadership, courage, and dedication to good governance, which resonated with the aspirations of the Ijaw people.

Similarly, the chairman of IYC Eastern Zone, Tamuno Kpokpo, clarified that their visit aimed to support the continuous development and protection of Rivers State’s interests, emphasizing the IYC’s commitment to resisting any disruptions to governance in the state.
