Gov Uzodimma Enhances Police Operations with 11 APCs, 32 Vehicles

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has significantly bolstered the operational capabilities of the police by providing 32 additional vehicles and refurbishing 11 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) for the Imo State Command.

During a brief handover ceremony, Governor Uzodimma emphasized that the initiative aimed to support the police in their ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety and security of residents.

The governor highlighted the importance of functional security equipment for effective police operations. He explained that the government had identified and refurbished abandoned vehicles within the Command, previously scattered across the state, for renewed use.

Governor Uzodimma expressed confidence that the repaired APCs and vehicles would enhance police operations, aiding their mission to minimize crime and criminality.

Receiving the vehicles, Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, noted that the government originally procured these vehicles. He praised Governor Uzodimma’s decision to refurbish them, acknowledging that they had deteriorated over time due to extensive use.

Commissioner Danjuma affirmed that the vehicles would be deployed across the state to protect lives and property and to combat crime. He assured that Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) would oversee the management and utilization of the vehicles to ensure they contribute effectively to reducing crime rates in Imo State.
