The Golden Penny Soup Festival 2.0 took place at the Ibadan Recreation Club and attracted over 8,000 attendees on July 27th. Sponsored by Golden Penny Semovita – My Soup’s first choice, the event showcased Nigerian cuisine with various soup stalls offering popular dishes like Egusi, Banga, Ila Alasepo, and Efo Riro, all served with Semovita.
In addition to the delicious food, the festival featured a range of activities to engage and entertain attendees.
Cooking competitions and dancing contests added excitement to the event, while masterclasses conducted by renowned chefs Geena, Amaka, and Dee provided culinary education to participants.
A dedicated Kids’ Arena offered entertainment for children with activities like bouncing castles and face painting. The festival was hosted by KieKie and Password, with musical performances by Crayon and Segun Johnson adding to the lively atmosphere.
Attendees had the chance to win prizes such as cash, kitchen appliances, and product hampers in a festive raffle draw. The success of the Golden Penny Soup Festival 2.0 solidified its reputation as a vibrant celebration of Nigerian culinary traditions, music, and community spirit.
