Ghanaian dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., known as Shatta Wale, has commented on the remarkable achievements of Nigerian musicians, expressing that the accomplishments of their Ghanaian counterparts pale in comparison. Shatta Wale likened the Ghanaian music industry to a “feeding bottle,” while he described the Nigerian music industry as a “Hennessy bottle.”
Shatta Wale made these remarks while congratulating Nigerian artist Asake, who recently achieved the feat of selling out the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, UK. Taking to his Twitter account, Shatta Wale stated, “Nigerians [artistes] are making Ghana music look like feeding bottle compared to Hennessy bottle. Congrats to Asake meeeenn!!!”
He also touched upon the question raised by some Ghanaians about how Nigerian musicians achieve such impressive success. Shatta Wale responded by suggesting that eliminating judgment and adopting a more supportive attitude toward fellow artists could be key to unlocking the formula for success.
In closing, Shatta Wale acknowledged the significant accomplishments of the Nigerian music industry, exclaiming, “Naija is winning BIG TIME !!! My people.”
