London, England — Chelsea striker Joao Pedro has expressed confidence that new signing Alejandro Garnacho will significantly strengthen the squad.
Pedro, who scored in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday, welcomed Garnacho’s arrival, which was confirmed shortly after the match.
Describing Garnacho as a “brilliant player,” Pedro said on the club’s official website, “We are very happy he is with us. We welcome him into the group and hope he can help us in the coming weeks after the international break.”
Reflecting on his own goal, Pedro shared, “It was very satisfying to score! We practiced the corner routine during the week. I knew I had to be in the right spot if the ball went past the defender, and thankfully, it worked out perfectly.”
Garnacho, 21, joined Chelsea from Manchester United this summer in a £40 million deal and has already impressed fans with his talent and potential.
