Galatasaray and Braga make triumphant return to UEFA Champions League after years away

Galatasaray secured a spot in the Champions League group stage after a 2-1 win over Molde in the play-off round second leg, securing a 5-3 aggregate victory. Leading 3-2 from the first leg, Galatasaray extended their advantage with a seventh-minute penalty from Mauro Icardi. Despite Eirik Hestad’s goal for Molde and Veton Berisha’s disallowed goal, former Manchester City left-back Angelino sealed Galatasaray’s qualification with an injury-time strike.

Braga also progressed to the group stage after winning 1-0 against Panathinaikos in Greece, securing a 3-1 aggregate success. The Portuguese club will play in the group stage for the third time and the first time in 11 years. Bruma’s late winner in the second leg secured their qualification.

Swiss side Young Boys advanced to the group stage by defeating Maccabi Haifa 3-0 at home, following a goalless first-leg match.

Upcoming matches include PSV Eindhoven hosting Rangers after a 2-2 first-leg draw, as well as FC Copenhagen and Royal Antwerp defending their one-goal leads against Rakow and AEK Athens, respectively1.
