OYE EKITI – The Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has cleared Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, of sexual harassment allegations leveled against him by senior staff member, Mrs. Folasade Adebayo.
In a statement released by the University Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, the council concluded after reviewing audio evidence and a police report that there was no sexual harassment. It found the allegations were an attempt to blackmail the VC into confirming Adebayo as Director of Works and Services—a position outside his jurisdiction.
The council has ordered Adebayo to issue a written apology within seven days and warned the university management against preferential treatment and irregular staff promotions, particularly referencing Adebayo’s backdated promotion to 2015.
