Lagos, Nigeria — Embattled Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Tuesday, amid ongoing political tension surrounding his administration.
The meeting comes on the heels of Fubara’s suspension by the President, alongside that of his deputy and several members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, following months of deepening political unrest in the oil-rich state.
Presidential aide on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the visit through a post on X, sharing images of the meeting between both leaders.
While the photographs sparked immediate public interest, the content and outcome of the discussions remain undisclosed as of press time.
The visit has fueled fresh speculation over potential resolutions to the crisis that has paralyzed governance in the state for weeks.
