The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced plans to intensify traffic enforcement during the festive season through mobile courts.
The Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, has directed commanding officers nationwide to collaborate with the judiciary in all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to ensure seamless prosecution of traffic offenders. This initiative aims to discourage violations and enhance road safety during the busy yuletide period.
Addressing road users, particularly commercial drivers, Mallam Mohammed warned that strict adherence to traffic regulations is non-negotiable. He emphasized that offenders would face swift legal action to deter others from flouting the rules.
He also outlined the Corps’ readiness to manage traffic by identifying alternative routes, alerting the public to distressed areas, and intervening in cases of gridlock.
To strengthen these efforts, the FRSC is working closely with the Police, Civil Defence Corps, and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to ensure prompt emergency response and safe road conditions.
The Corps encouraged road users to download the FRSC Mobile App for real-time updates, road safety tips, and the reporting of emergencies.
