Tragedy struck Ambe community in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State as bandits launched a deadly assault, resulting in the loss of six lives on Sunday night.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, disclosed to Newsmen that one suspect had been apprehended in connection with the attack.
Hassan revealed that upon receiving a distress call, police operatives from Sanga Divisional Police Station and troops of “Operation Safe Haven” swiftly responded to the scene, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle. As a result, one bandit was arrested, while the others fled into the forest with gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, Daniel Amos, the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, lamented the loss of lives, stating that six individuals were killed in the attack, with eight others sustaining injuries and currently receiving medical treatment in hospital.
Expressing his condemnation of the heinous act aimed at destabilizing peace and security in his constituency, Amos urged all residents of Sanga council to remain calm and peaceful as efforts are underway to find a lasting solution to the insecurity plaguing the area.
