In a successful rescue operation carried out by a joint team of security forces, the four remaining sisters of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadariya have been freed from their abductors in the Kaduna State, Nigeria.
The sisters had been held captive by kidnappers who demanded a ransom of N60 million (US$140,000), which was later raised to N100 million (US$230,000) after the death of their sister, Nabeeha. The kidnappers had threatened to kill all of the sisters if their demands were not met.
The Sisters were held captive alongside their fathers.
On January 2nd, in the Zuma 1 area of Bwari Area Council, Nigeria, a joint operations between the FCT Anti-Kidnapping squad and the Nigerian Army rescued four sisters of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadariya, who had been kidnapped.
Although there are suspicions that a ransom was paid, the police have not confirmed this information. The kidnapping of the Al-Kadariya sisters had received much attention from the Nigerian public, with some people raising money in an effort to save the lives of the other sisters. However, despite these efforts, one of the sisters, Nabeeha, was killed by the kidnappers.
The rescue of the remaining sisters has brought some relief to the country, which has been plagued by kidnappings and other violent crimes in recent years. It is hoped that this rescue will send a message to criminals that their actions will not go unpunished.
