Delta state, Nigeria_A devastating petrol tanker explosion occurred in Agbor town, Delta State, resulting in the deaths of at least four people and injuring three others
The tanker, which was laden with diesel, suffered a brake failure and fell at a traffic light junction, causing a massive explosion that engulfed several vehicles and houses . Despite efforts to put out the fire, four people lost their lives. Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his condolences to the families of the victims and directed the State Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities to provide immediate support to those affected. This incident is the latest in a series of fuel tanker explosions in Nigeria, which have claimed numerous lives in recent months. The country is currently grappling with fuel scarcity and economic crisis, with gasoline prices having soared fivefold since the removal of fuel subsidy in May 2023 .
