FIRS Opens Tax Officer Applications, gives Application Guide

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has opened its recruitment portal for Tax Officer positions, accepting applications from 12:00 am on November 2, 2024.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, FIRS announced it is seeking to fill Officer I and Officer II roles in multiple locations across Nigeria. The agency encourages women and individuals with disabilities to apply, emphasizing its commitment to a diverse workforce.

Positions are available in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo. However, successful candidates should be prepared to work in any of FIRS’ business locations nationwide.

This recruitment drive offers eligible candidates an opportunity to contribute to national development through tax administration. FIRS has outlined the following application steps:

1. Check Eligibility: Candidates must be 27 or younger by December 31, 2024, have completed NYSC by December 31, 2021, and possess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND with a First or Second Class Upper.

2. Complete the Application Form: Visit www.firs.gov.ng/careers, fill out the form carefully, and verify all information before submission.

3. Upload and Submit Documents: Required documents include academic certificates, NYSC discharge certificate, professional certifications (if any), and a passport photo. Note the confirmation number after submission.

4. Monitor Your Email: FIRS will communicate application status and further steps via email.

5. Assessments and Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for assessments and interviews, where knowledge and suitability for the role will be evaluated.

6. Onboarding: Selected applicants will receive instructions on onboarding, including training and orientation.
