FG Unveils Phase Two Loans for Nigerian Creatives and Entrepreneurs

Abuja, NigeriaThe Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy has initiated Phase Two of the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF), a significant government program aimed at accelerating growth in Nigeria’s creative and cultural sectors.

According to a statement from Nneka Anibeze, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Minister, the fund is intended to grant creatives and entrepreneurs access to financing, skill-building opportunities, and market access, promoting inclusive economic development.

Building on Phase One’s success, which attracted thousands of Nigerian business applications, Phase Two broadens the scope to support enterprises aiming to expand, innovate, and generate sustainable employment across the creative economy.

The statement noted the introduction of a revamped application portal at www.cedf.gov.ng, featuring a simplified user interface that enables applicants to navigate funding options, submit proposals, and monitor application progress with real-time updates and increased transparency.

Loans of up to $100,000 are now available, covering multiple subsectors such as film, television, animation, gaming, music, publishing, visual arts, fashion, culinary arts, tourism, and cultural heritage.

The Ministry emphasized ensuring all subsectors benefit from Nigeria’s creative revival through this inclusive funding approach.

Phase Two also seeks to foster innovation, support small and medium enterprises, boost exports, and institutionalize growth by integrating digital tracking systems.
