The Federal Government is to enroll more than 10 million out-of- school children in schools to improve their standard of living.
The Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu announced the plan when he visited the Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, in his office at Birnin Kebbi.
Dr Sununu told Senator Abubakar that the federal government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, was planning to revive the National Commission for Adults and Almajiris Education to provide out-of-school children, including Almajiris, “quality education with skills acquisition for better society”.
The Minister also condoled with the people and government of Kebbi State over the death of famous Islamic scholar, Sheik Abubakar Giro Argungu, who passed away recently following a brief illness.
Senator Abubakar thanked Dr Sununu for the visit and congratulated him for his “well-deserved appointment” as Minister.
The Deputy Governor also lauded the federal government’s initiative to bring back the out-of-school children and Almajiri education programme.
