Nigeria – The Federal Government has officially lifted the suspension preventing Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Blaze Newz recalls that in 2024, HND holders were excluded from mobilization due to issues related to the Industrial Training (IT) letter.
In a statement signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, it was confirmed that full-time HND graduates are now eligible for NYSC service.
According to the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, this decision follows discussions with the NYSC Director-General. He emphasized that only those who completed a full-time HND program will be mobilized, while part-time graduates remain ineligible.
To facilitate the process, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been instructed to compile the necessary data, and polytechnic rectors have been directed to upload graduates’ details to a newly created portal for accurate documentation.
Dr. Alausa urged all eligible graduates to take advantage of this opportunity and assured them of the government’s commitment to fairness and equal opportunities in education and national development.
