FG Declares Holidays For Christmas, New Year Celebration

 

The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Christmas, Boxing Day, and the New Year.

 

In an official announcement, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed warm greetings to Nigerians on behalf of the Federal Government. The statement, issued by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, urged citizens to embrace the season as a time to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity.

 

Dr. Tunji-Ojo highlighted the significance of the festive period in fostering harmony and strengthening bonds among families and communities. He called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their commitment to national peace, unity, and development, which are crucial for the nation’s progress.

 

“The Christmas season provides an opportunity for spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, let us practice kindness and goodwill, transcending all differences,” he stated.

 

The minister reassured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s unwavering dedication to peace, security, and prosperity. He expressed optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration will herald a prosperous 2025, bringing about economic transformation that positions Nigeria as a global leader.
