FG Approves 154 Health Facilities for Free Maternal Care

NigeriaThe Federal Government has announced the designation of 154 health facilities across the country to provide free medical treatment for women facing obstetric complications.

These centers will offer care for women experiencing health issues during pregnancy, labor, childbirth, or the postpartum period, ensuring the well-being of both mother and child.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, made this known during an interview on Politics Today.

According to him, the selected facilities have been equipped with skilled personnel, modern medical tools, and high standards of care to deliver quality services.

In addition, the government has identified 18 specialized centers nationwide to provide free treatment for vesicovaginal fistula, a serious childbirth-related condition.

A full list of the designated emergency obstetric care and VVF facilities has been made available for public reference.
