Fernandes Turns Down £200m Al-Hilal Move, stays at United

Manchester, EnglandManchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes has turned down a high-profile offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal, choosing to remain in European football despite a lucrative contract proposal.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the 30-year-old Portugal international rejected a three-year deal reportedly worth £200 million, alongside a proposed £100 million transfer fee to Manchester United.

Despite the financial appeal of the Saudi Pro League, Fernandes has opted to continue competing at the highest level in Europe, reaffirming his desire to play elite football.

“Bruno Fernandes has REJECTED Al Hilal proposal,” Romano revealed in a post. “Despite a massive offer, the Manchester United captain has made his decision — he wants to stay in Europe and compete at the top level.”

Fernandes was a consistent performer for the Red Devils during the 2024/25 campaign, registering eight goals and 10 assists across 36 Premier League appearances.

The midfield maestro joined United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020 and has since become a central figure at Old Trafford, both in leadership and in performance.
