The Federal Government has reiterated its dedication to advancing gender development and empowering women through vocational training and the provision of sustainable equipment.
Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, highlighted the government’s commitment during her visit to Benue State, as stated by Grace Njoku, the ministry’s head of information and public relations.
The Ministry plans to utilize Benue State’s abundant fruit resources by providing tools for extraction and preservation, aiming to reduce waste and enhance the vitamin intake of Nigerians, Kennedy-Ohanenye explained.
The Minister also pledged to supply Point of Sales (POS) machines to small- and medium-scale entrepreneurs. She encouraged women to form clusters and register on the Ministry’s e-commerce portal to access grants and other opportunities.
Fidelis Unongo, Special Adviser on Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs to the Governor of Benue State, expressed gratitude on behalf of the State Government. He reaffirmed the State’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to improving the lives of women and children.
