Federal Fire Service Saves ₦1.94 Trillion in Properties for 2024

Nigeria _ The Federal Fire Service (FFS) announced that it saved properties valued at ₦1.94 trillion from fire incidents across Nigeria in 2024, with property losses estimated at ₦67.1 billion and 33,890 lives saved.

The FFS plans to enhance its operations in 2025 by rolling out advanced technologies, including the National Fire Detection and Alarm System (NAFDAS) and the N-Alert Fire Alarm mobile application. The Controller General, Mr. Jaji AbdulGaniyu, cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant during the harmattan season and encouraged proactive measures to prevent fire outbreaks. The FFS also commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the procurement of modern firefighting equipment and the remodeling of the National Fire Service Academy in Sheda, Abuja.
