As Chalya Grace Joel is laid to rest, family members and friends are demanding that her killers be brought to justice.
Chalya Joel who was a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Kaduna was stabbed to death in Kaduna on October 18, 2023 and her phone stolen when she encountered hoodlums during her routine morning walk.
In a series of tributes during her funeral service, family and friends represented by Professor Ponchang Wuyep said Justice for Chalya was Justice for all those who had been killed unjustly, “her Blood will not go in vain, it will be the reason such senseless killings will come to an end.”
Speaking at the funeral, Head of Corps welfare, National Youth Service Corps, Kaduna State, Samaila Haruna said as at Thursday, October 25, a group of boys had been apprehended and security agents were not resting on its oars to apprehend the perpetrators.
He revealed that NYSC had held several meetings with the security operatives and the state government and they were all working towards finding Justice.
Chalya was there after interned in her home town langtang North local government area of plateau state.
