Fadahunsi Launches Loan Scheme for 700 Osun Entrepreneurs

Ilesa, Osun StateSenator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry, has introduced a Revolving Loan Empowerment Scheme aimed at boosting small-scale businesses across his constituency.

The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Osun State Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment, is designed to provide financial support to over 700 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with a focus on youth and women-led ventures.

Speaking at the launch, Senator Fadahunsi emphasized that the programme is a strategic investment to foster grassroots development and economic self-reliance, rather than a mere financial giveaway. “This is about sustainable empowerment. Beneficiaries are expected to repay the loan promptly to allow others benefit, ensuring the cycle continues,” he said.

The Osun State Government commended the initiative, with the Deputy Governor, representing Governor Ademola Adeleke, praising Fadahunsi’s commitment to community upliftment and entrepreneurship.

Hon. Bayo Ogungbangbe, Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, highlighted the importance of discipline and responsibility among beneficiaries, stressing that timely repayment was crucial to sustaining the impact of the scheme.

The launch event drew wide participation from political stakeholders, cooperative unions, and community leaders—an indication of the strong support for the Senator’s ongoing developmental efforts.

This loan scheme adds to previous empowerment interventions by Senator Fadahunsi, including training programmes and financial grants, reinforcing his dedication to economic growth and poverty reduction in Osun East.
