The January transfer window for the English Premier League opened on Wednesday, providing clubs with an opportunity to strengthen their squads for the remainder of the 2024-25 season and beyond.
The window will remain open until February 3, 2025, closing at 11 p.m. GMT (6 p.m. ET). This timeline also applies to other divisions in England’s football league system, enabling teams across the board to make necessary adjustments.
According to ESPN, similar transfer windows have opened in France and Germany. However, Spain and Italy will begin their winter transfer windows on January 2.
The closing times vary across the leagues. LaLiga’s window will close at midnight local time (11 p.m. GMT, 6 p.m. ET) on February 3, while Ligue 1 teams will have until 10 p.m. GMT (5 p.m. ET). The Bundesliga’s business must be concluded by 6 p.m. CET (5 p.m. GMT), with Serie A wrapping up two hours later.
This mid-season transfer window is expected to see clubs across Europe strategize to reinforce their squads for a competitive second half of the season.
