Uyo, Nigeria — Miss Comfort Emmanson, central to the controversial Ibom Air incident, has revealed a distressing account of the ordeal she endured involving a flight attendant during a Uyo-Lagos flight.
In an Instagram post on her @soft_commy account, Emmanson alleged that flight hostess Julian Edwards physically assaulted her by forcefully pulling off her frontal wig, cutting her gold jewelry, and damaging her mobile phones.
The conflict began aboard the plane when Emmanson struggled to switch off her phone as requested during pre-flight checks. Upon arrival in Lagos, the situation escalated with Edwards allegedly insulting her by calling her a prostitute, blocking her from disembarking, and physically attacking her, leaving Emmanson bruised and humiliated.
Emmanson recounted how Edwards’ aggression led to a painful confrontation involving a dragged pin inside her clothing, and how crew members surrounded and harassed her while filming the incident, later circulating private videos and images on social media.
She expressed deep trauma over the public sharing of her private images, which she said have been turned into stickers and memes, severely damaging her reputation and causing fear about her professional and personal future.
“I never refused to switch off my phone,” Emmanson emphasized, explaining the phone issue arose from technical difficulties with one of her devices and her attempts to comply with crew instructions.
Despite the trauma, Emmanson expressed gratitude to supporters who stood by her during a difficult period that included imprisonment and ongoing treatment.
