Emir Sanusi Warns Against Instigating Unrest in Kano

Kano, Nigeria The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called for calm among residents, warning that anyone attempting to ignite chaos in the state will be consumed by their own actions.

The Emir made this statement in a viral video following the Court of Appeal’s verdict, which ruled in his favor on a case involving emirate matters. Emir Sanusi expressed concern over individuals seeking to incite unrest in the state, urging residents to maintain peace.

Addressing the situation, he said, “As you all know, the Appeal Court has confirmed today that the Federal High Court has no jurisdiction over emirate issues. This judgment was expected, and those who initiated the case in court knew this all along.”

He criticized those who, for the past eight months, have prioritized selfish interests and attempted to provoke disorder in Kano, emphasizing that peace has been preserved despite their efforts.

“This battle is not ours but God’s,” the Emir remarked, urging people to continue praying for divine guidance and intervention. He added, “May God protect us, and whoever seeks to ignite chaos in Kano, may that fire consume them instead.”

The monarch advised against engaging provocateurs, stating that those who oppose God’s judgment will face the consequences. He called on residents to uphold unity and avoid actions that could disrupt the state’s peace.

The Emir’s appeal comes amid heightened tensions following the court ruling, as he reassures the people of Kano that peace and order will prevail.
