The transgender daughter of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Vivian Wilson, and her decision to leave the United States after the election victory of Donald Trump.
Vivian, who is 20 years old, expressed her discomfort with Trump’s return to office and shared her plans to relocate out of the country through a post on Threads.
In her post, Vivian mentioned her lack of future prospects in the United States and cited Trump’s presidency as a major factor in her decision to leave.
She stated that even if Trump’s term is limited to four years and anti-trans regulations do not materialize, the people who supported him are still present in society and influential.
Born as Xavier Musk in 2004, Vivian took steps to legally change her name and gender in April 2022, adopting her mother’s maiden name, Wilson, to distance herself from her father.
Elon Musk, who has openly supported Trump, has been vocal about his strained relationship with Vivian.
He expressed feeling misled into allowing his child to use puberty blockers and lamented what he perceived as the loss of his son.
Musk’s comments about feeling like he lost his son and being critical of the use of puberty blockers reflect his perspective on Vivian’s gender transition.
