Dr. Emeka Obi has officially taken on the role of Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. This transition follows the conclusion of Engr. Nebeolisa Anako’s tenure, which ended after 35 years of dedicated service to the nation.
According to a statement from Osagie Jacobs, the ministry’s Director of Information, Dr. Obi acknowledged the crucial role the Ministry plays in budget preparation and coordination. He urged the Ministry’s management and staff to work diligently towards the objectives set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Dr. Obi emphasized his commitment to providing strategic leadership and called for the cooperation of all personnel to achieve this goal.
Engr. Anako, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, expressed his appreciation for his time at the Ministry, highlighting the unique opportunities and challenges it presented compared to his previous roles.
Mr. Emmanuel Ukpai, Director of Human Resource Management, welcomed Dr. Obi, assuring him of the unwavering support and loyalty of the Ministry’s management and staff.
Dr. Obi’s appointment as Permanent Secretary was recently announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Prior to this role, Dr. Obi served as a Director at the State House Clinic. He is a native of Oraifite in Anambra State.
