Don’t Challenge Tinubu, Oborevwori, Delta APC Leaders Warn Contestants

Ughelli, Delta State Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State have cautioned politicians intending to run in the 2027 presidential and governorship elections to abandon their ambitions.

This warning came during the unveiling of the Ukodo Nation Forum (UNF), a political pressure group, at Ughelli over the weekend.

The APC leaders declared that there are no openings at Aso Rock or the Government House in Asaba, as President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are set to remain in office until 2031.

Joined by party figures from Delta’s three senatorial districts, they vowed to rally support to ensure the reelection of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in the next general elections.

At the unveiling ceremony, UNF convener Olorogun Olori stated that the forum, under the APC banner, was established to galvanize backing for the reelection bids of both the president and the governor.

He urged Nigerians to back Tinubu’s 2027 reelection, emphasizing that the president’s leadership has prevented national collapse through well-considered policies that are now bearing fruit.

Olori also called on Delta residents to reject any candidate aiming to block Governor Oborevwori’s reelection, asserting that by the end of his tenure, he would be acknowledged as the best governor the oil-rich state has ever had.

He highlighted that before Tinubu’s presidency, many states and local government councils struggled to pay salaries, but the president’s economic policies have generated surplus funds that now fund infrastructure and economic development.

Olori praised Governor Oborevwori for his prudent management of Delta’s resources and lauded ongoing projects, particularly the construction of flyovers at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, Enerhen Junction in Effurun Uvwie, Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli, and Uromi Junction in Agbor.

He noted the governor’s completion of the Ughelli/Asaba Road project and the building of bridges in riverine communities like Orereh and Bomadi.

In his welcome remarks, UNF Administrator and former APC chairman for Ughelli North, Olorogun Felix Ekuru, reiterated that the Government House in Delta State will see no vacancy in 2027, stating that Oborevwori is divinely ordained to serve until 2031.

The event, convened by notable businessman and elder statesman Olori—Obaseki of Ughelli Kingdom—was attended by prominent figures including former Secretary to the Delta State Government Hon. Festus Agas, ex-Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt Prof. Samuel Ibodje, and Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development Terry Noah.
