Canadian actor Donald Sutherland, known for his iconic roles in “The Hunger Games” and “Don’t Look Now,” has passed away at the age of 88 after a period of ill health.
His son, actor Kiefer Sutherland, confirmed the news, saying, “With a heavy heart, I share that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away.”
Eulogizing his father, Kiefer Sutherland added, “Never daunted by a role, good, bad, or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”
Donald Sutherland’s illustrious career earned him numerous accolades, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance in the mini-series “Citizen X.” In 2017, he was honored with an honorary Oscar.
