Dele Momodu expresses shock at Tinubu’s broadcast – #EndBadGovernance

Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine, expressed his astonishment at President Bola Tinubu’s broadcast to the nation on Sunday. In a post on X, Momodu stated that he felt disappointed that Tinubu did not address the demands of the ongoing protesters across the country.

Tinubu’s address to Nigerians came three days after the commencement of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests, during which the protesters had articulated various demands, including the reinstatement of fuel subsidies, improvements in living standards, reductions in the cost of governance, and solutions to the escalating insecurity situation in the country.

Reacting to Tinubu’s broadcast, Momodu remarked that he, like many others, was taken aback by the speech. He expressed skepticism about Tinubu’s willingness to make concessions to address the grievances of Nigerians, considering his long-standing influence in Lagos State for the past 25 years. Momodu also noted that Tinubu’s advisors, who have been close associates from Lagos, may not have challenged him to consider changing his strategies that have been successful for him over the years.

In essence, Momodu suggested that it was wishful thinking to expect Tinubu to show mercy towards the Nigerian populace, highlighting the challenges faced by those who are hopeful for positive change in the country.
