Miami, USA — Excitement is building in the entertainment world as Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, and his wife, Chioma Rowland, arrived in Miami, Florida, ahead of their much-anticipated white wedding ceremony.
The couple’s arrival was confirmed on Wednesday through a video posted to Davido’s Instagram story, showing them boarding a private jet adorned with floral arrangements and a bridal chair labeled “MRS”—a clear nod to the upcoming nuptials.
While the singer had hinted back in April that the wedding would take place in August, he withheld the exact date, fueling speculation among fans. However, fresh reports suggest the ceremony is set for Saturday.
In a further show of support, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State—Davido’s uncle—has also travelled to the United States to attend the occasion. His spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the governor’s trip on Tuesday amid concerns raised by the opposition APC about his absence from the state.
“Governor Adeleke is currently in the U.S. to honour a family commitment,” the statement read, brushing off criticisms as politically motivated distractions.
Davido and Chioma’s relationship has spanned several years, with the singer proposing in 2019. Though the couple weathered a public breakup in 2021 and suffered the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022, they officially married in a private legal ceremony in March 2023.
“We’ve been through it all—ups and downs—but love always wins,” Davido previously remarked during a media interview in early 2024.
The pair welcomed twins in October 2023 and held their traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024, which was attended by several celebrities and dignitaries.
The Miami celebration is expected to be a star-studded affair. Davido recently stirred online buzz after revealing that Chioma’s wedding ring is valued at the price of “two or three Rolls-Royce cars,” further raising expectations for the lavish event.
