Dangote To Start Fuel Supply Nationwide From August 15

Lagos, NigeriaThe Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will commence nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel from August 15, 2025, in a bid to bolster fuel supply and support economic development across Nigeria.

This announcement was made in a statement released on Sunday, highlighting the refinery’s wide-scale distribution strategy, which targets petrol marketers, station operators, manufacturers, aviation, telecoms, and other large-scale fuel consumers.

As part of its rollout plan, the refinery disclosed it had acquired 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to enable cost-free and efficient logistics nationwide. It also plans to set up CNG daughter booster stations, supported by over 100 additional CNG transport vehicles, to ensure consistent delivery even in rural and underserved communities.

“This initiative eliminates transportation costs, promotes sustainability, and strengthens energy availability in Nigeria,” the statement read. It aligns with the Dangote Group’s broader goals of enhancing affordability, reducing inflation, and boosting operational efficiency across sectors.

A credit facility will also be made available to bulk buyers, offering an additional 500,000 litres on credit to customers who purchase a minimum of 500,000 litres, backed by bank guarantees.

The initiative is expected to revive dormant filling stations, create jobs, support SMEs, and enhance government revenue. Dangote Refinery emphasized that the program supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, serving as a testament to his administration’s economic reform policies.

The refinery also acknowledged the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude policy, which has contributed to fuel price stabilization amid global fluctuations.

Stakeholders interested in participating in the program are required to complete registration and KYC verification between June 16 and August 15, 2025.
