An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan has remanded Taiwo Adewale, 35, on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Magistrate Adebola Adeola, citing lack of jurisdiction, did not take the defendant’s plea and ordered his remand at the federal correctional centre in Agodi, Ibadan. The police were instructed to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. The case has been adjourned to June 28 for mention.
Prosecutor Insp. Iyabo Oladoyin informed the court that the offences occurred on January 28 at 5:00 p.m. in Ariku-Oko village, Ibadan. Adewale is accused of unlawfully causing the death of Semiu Olaosebikan, 46, by shooting him. Additionally, he is charged with the attempted murder of Soliu Jimoh and Ibrahim Adebayo, also by shooting.
