Chelle Meets Super Eagles Stars in Europe Ahead of 2026 WCQ

Paris, FranceSuper Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has embarked on a tour across Europe to engage with key members of the national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Accompanied by his assistant, Hedi Taboubi, Chelle visited Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, and Alex Iwobi at their respective clubs, reinforcing his commitment to strengthening the squad.

As part of his tour, Chelle attended the Ligue 1 clash between Nantes and Brest at the Stade de la Beaujoire, where Simon featured for 68 minutes before his side fell to a 2-0 defeat.

The visit is part of Chelle’s ongoing efforts to familiarize himself with the players as he prepares to lead the three-time African champions for the first time. The Malian tactician, who took charge of the Super Eagles in January, is gearing up for a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi next month.

The match is set for March 21 at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, marking a significant test for Chelle’s tenure. Four days later, Nigeria will return home to face Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, as they aim to solidify their qualification campaign.

Chelle’s engagement with Super Eagles stars underscores his determination to build a formidable team capable of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
