Hull City defender Semi Ajayi will be sidelined for around one month due to a hamstring injury, news reports.
Ajayi, according to Hull Daily Mail, sustained the injury during the Tigers’ opening Sky Bet Championship game of the season against Coventry City.
The centre-back was left out of Hull City’s Carabao Cup defeat at Wrexham United on Tuesday as a precaution.
Scans have now revealed further damage, and he is expected to spend time on the sidelines.
Ajayi also battled with a hamstring problem during his final season with West Bromwich Albion.
The Nigeria international only made 15 appearances for the Baggies last season.
He will now miss Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa in September.
