Abuja, Nigeria–The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a further postponement in the introduction of its revised service fees, moving the effective date from September to October 1, 2025.
This marks the second deferment since the fee hike was initially publicized in June and was originally set to start on August 15. The latest delay is aimed at allowing more time to fully stabilize the new Company Registration Portal (CRP).
The CAC received numerous complaints from Nigerians experiencing technical difficulties with the portal, prompting the need for the extension to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for users.
In a public notice, the Commission highlighted that prioritizing the optimization of the new registration platform remains its goal before rolling out the updated fees. The stabilization process is expected to be completed by mid-September.
By deferring the fee revision, the Commission seeks to provide “optimum value” and a seamless transition for businesses, investors, and the general public.
The CAC emphasized its commitment to building an intelligent, customer-focused registry that adheres to global industry standards. The Commission expressed gratitude for customers’ patience and cooperation during this critical transformation period.
Previously, the implementation date had shifted from August 15 to September 1 to allow smoother operation of the upgraded portal, with the decision also influenced by feedback from stakeholders.
The fee adjustments reflect rising operational costs and broader economic challenges, aiming to improve service quality, enhance efficiency, and support the ongoing digital transformation.
The CAC assured that the revised fees will remain modest, competitive, and aligned with its strategy to reinforce the integrity of Nigeria’s corporate registry and strengthen investor confidence.
