Scottsdale, Arizona — A business jet crash at Scottsdale Municipal Airport has claimed one life and left four others injured, prompting an urgent response from emergency officials.
According to Dave Folio, spokesperson for the Scottsdale Fire Department, emergency teams transported three injured victims to nearby hospitals, while one individual remained trapped in the wreckage as rescue efforts continued.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the accident involved a Learjet 35A, which veered off the runway and collided with a stationary Gulfstream G200. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and authorities have launched a formal investigation.
The incident adds to growing air safety concerns in the United States, with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) already probing three other fatal crashes. These include a midair collision in Washington, D.C., involving a passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter that resulted in 67 fatalities, a medical jet crash in Philadelphia that killed seven people, and an Alaska plane crash that claimed ten lives.
Authorities say additional details regarding the Scottsdale crash will be released as the investigation progresses.
