Renowned Nigerian artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has announced plans for the inaugural ‘Burna Boy Festival.’ The event is set to take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from December 21 to 25, 2024.
During a live session on Friday, Burna Boy shared his excitement about the upcoming festival. “We’re organizing the Burna Boy Festival from December 21 to 25, and we’re inviting the whole world to join us,” he announced.
Burna Boy extended an open invitation to fellow artists, promising an inclusive lineup. “If you’re an artist and we’ve ever spoken, consider yourself invited to perform at my festival in Port Harcourt. Just let me know which date you’re available between the 21st and 25th,” he stated.
Regarding artist compensation, Burna Boy assured fair remuneration without relying on government support. “Don’t worry, I will handle it. This is all on me, no government involvement,” he reassured. He also emphasized the need for local government to provide security, while underscoring the event’s grassroots nature. “Of course, we need our government to ensure security, but this is just me and my people,” he added.
