Burna Boy reveals why Nigerians hate him

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has opened up about why he is viewed negatively in the music industry.

Burna Boy acknowledged that he is often misunderstood by the industry, and people have a tendency to dislike what they do not understand.

However, he clarified that he does not concern himself with negativity, but rather focuses on his music and his fans. Burna Boy went on to say that he has achieved many of his goals and has reached a level of success that he is proud of. Despite the criticism he receives, he remains grateful for his accomplishments and the support of his fans.

As DNEWSINFO reports, Burna Boy has long maintained that he is disliked by his fellow Nigerians, a sentiment he has expressed in his songs as well as in interviews. In his track “Thank You,” from his recent album I Told Them, Burna Boy suggests that despite the fact that he makes Nigeria proud whenever he gets the chance, Nigerians do not appreciate him.

He alleges that instead of appreciating his musical contributions, Nigerians spread false rumours about him, such as that his mother was a dancer for the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and that his lack of a child is due to infertility.
