Renowned vocalist, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, famously known as Brymo, asserts his musical prowess surpasses that of Burna Boy.
During an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask with skit maker, Bae U Barbie, Brymo responded to Burna Boy’s diss freestyle, suggesting Brymo had “fallen off.”
Asserting his position, Brymo remarked, “The diss freestyle is typical Burna Boy lyrics. However, nothing would warrant his inclusion in my music. He simply does not meet my musical standards.”
In a bold proclamation, Brymo declared himself as the “preeminent vocalist” in Africa, stating, “I am not merely proud; I am unequivocally the finest vocalist on the continent, surpassing all others.”
Despite facing criticism, particularly on Twitter, Brymo remains steadfast in his conviction. He emphasized, “Even amidst the backlash, Twitter users cannot dispute the truth. Winning an award does not necessarily denote superiority in talent.”
This statement follows Burna Boy’s previous jab at Brymo during a freestyle with his band last October. Brymo had accused Burna Boy of song theft, alleging that “City Boys” and “I Told Them” sampled his upcoming album’s title track, “Macabre.”
