Bright Osayi Set for Besiktas Move After Fenerbahce Exit

Istanbul, Turkey Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to join Turkish powerhouse Besiktas on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract with Fenerbahce.

The 27-year-old right-back, who has spent the past four years with Fenerbahce, will officially depart the club at the end of June. Despite attracting interest from several English teams, Osayi-Samuel has chosen to remain in the Turkish Super Lig, committing his future to Besiktas—longtime rivals of his former side.

According to reports, Osayi-Samuel’s new deal with Besiktas will see him earn €2.5 million annually, in addition to a €1 million signing-on fee.

The transfer is anticipated to be formally announced in the coming week.

Osayi-Samuel originally arrived in Turkey in January 2021, transferring from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers. Last season, he featured in 27 league matches for Fenerbahce under manager Jose Mourinho.

The move marks a new chapter for Osayi-Samuel as he continues his professional career in Istanbul, now donning the black and white of Besiktas.
