BREAKING: Boat capsizes with INEC personnel, as Election SPO abducted in Bayelsa

A boat conveying 12 election personnel and materials to Registration Area Centre 17 in Koluama in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayless State has capsized.

In a statement by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Wilfred Ifogah, result sheets, power banks, and luggage containing personnel effects were lost, but no casualties were recorded.

According to the statement, efforts are being made to ensure the conduct of elections in the affected area, which has 5368 registered voters and 5311 PVCs collected.

It also stated that a Supervisory Presiding Officer, SPO, assigned to Registration Area 06 (Ossioma) in Sagbama LGA, Bayelsa State, has been abducted while waiting to board a boat at Amassoma Jetty.
