Bellingham Refutes Claims of Insulting Referee

Madrid, Spain —   Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has dismissed allegations that he verbally abused referee José Luis Munuera Montero during the team’s 1-1 draw against Osasuna.

The England international was shown a red card in the first half for alleged misconduct, but he maintains that the decision stemmed from a misunderstanding.

“I remember everything clearly, and the video evidence does not align with the referee’s report,” Bellingham stated. “I won’t go into specifics, but it was simply an expression like ‘Oh my God!’, it’s not an insult.”

Expressing his frustration, he emphasized that he would never act irresponsibly to disadvantage his team.

“It’s tough because when a referee misinterprets a situation, the entire team suffers. I just want to make it clear that I did not deliberately put my team in a position where they had to play with 10 men,” he added.

Bellingham urged football authorities to review the footage, hoping for a fair reassessment of the incident.

“The images provide clear evidence. While the result cannot be changed, I trust that once reviewed, the appropriate action will be taken,” he concluded.
